Checked the oil was fine. It's comfortable to drive, handles well, has a quiet cabin, lots of cubbies to store things (my favorite is hidden under the passenger seat), feels luxurious inside and out, and yet still has lots of off-road 'truck' capabilities at the right price. It has plenty of legroom,headroom for tall people. Up date at 8 months and 6000 miles. Overall, I am very happy with the jeep, and hope to keep it many years. Ac is satisfyingly cold but top fan speed is meh. I actually paid $10,300 under MSRP for a Latitude with the Comfort and Convenience (power liftgate), Cold Weather Package (heated seats and steering wheel), Comfort and Audio (power seat with lumbar adjustment and a 9 speaker audio system with a subwoofer), tonneau cargo cover, the V6 3.2L engine upgrade, and the tow package. But compare what I got in terms of value: Power: the 6 cylinder engine of the Jeep is is much more powerful and smooth than the 4 cylinder in the Honda..a 90 hp difference..advantage Jeep. 4WD: The Jeep has adjustable settings of the drive system, not to mention higher ground clearance and approach angles. Feels as good on the road as it did the day I bought it. I'd read so so reviews on the 9 speed from 2016, but figured Jeep had made improvements. Only regret: not getting the 4 x 4 kind.My wife and I like the ride, performance, handling, appearance and stability on slippery roads in the winter time. I chose the Jeep because I could get a tow package capable of towing 4500 pounds with the V6 engine, and still get an amazingly luxurious smaller SUV for a great price. I'm sure there are other small SUVs that might be better choices depending on the buyers requirements, but given my need for towing capability as well as basic transportation, the Jeep really seemed the right choice and after 2 months I've found no reason to believe otherwise.
The Jeep won out with a more substantial feel, was better equipped for the price, and the jeep dealer was much more willing to discount the price; the discount for the Jeep was about $4500 while the Chevy dealer seemed to hit a hard stop at about $2300.
Edmund"s still doesn't offer the ability to show the Model as a Latitude 6 Cyl. Needless to say we are very pleased with our Jeep Cherokee and won't hesitate to buy another one when it's time.Bought the car with 23 miles on it. The cabin was not well designed ie: driver right ac vent is blocked by steering wheel.
The only reason I was looking to trade is that I put about 24000 miles/year on my vehicle (so no lease) , and the BMW maintenance and repair cost after warranty is very expensive.
Convenience: The Jeep has Power tailgate, Much better/larger LCD Infotainment System, Remote Start, More Adjustable and comfortable power front seats Auto Mirror, integrated 911 system etc not on the CRV. Fabric along windshield trim doesn't even reach all the way to the end so looks unfinished. I do love my JEPP and am not disappointed in it thus far. But, because of the engine I am trying to turn it in early as it is a lease to upgrade to a Trailhawk with the V-6 or get in a grand Cherokee if possible ! so I expect that some will miss this review when searching; hopefully the title helps. Our jeep Cherokee has the turbo 2.0 which isn't lacking for power nor torque and gives us high 20's average mileage with a high of 31 at 55 mph on a trip.
I love the Jeep cherokee with all its features, comfort, and affordability, however I would recommend buying one. That being said, leather would have been a nice option. Lots of drop calls and when trying to call someone I couldn't. Stock tires were OK. Intermittently states it is updating my contact list and no voice recognition Still very happy with the car. Will be fixing the (hopefully), minor damage. To put it in perspective, I also have a 2016 Honda CRV and can make a good comparison now. Plan on keeping for a long time. worth the money, but make sure you seriously consider the V-6 ! Performance still impresses. I check the oil occasionally between changes and I've not yet needed to add any. Utility: The Jeep came with Roof Rails, Tow package (can tow 4500 lbs! Gas mileage is average for a SUV I guess, but not bad. The gas mileage has settled in to about 23 mpg as I've stopped trying to keep it up and become a bit more heavy footed. The seats are comfortable as well and the power adjustment along with adjustable steering column provides for very comfortable seating. The sticker price of the Jeep was $36K but with big rebates to be had the price of both cars ended up within $100 of each other, or $27.5K out the door going with their mid level trim; Latitude for the Jeep and EX for the CRV.
Unacceptable, no longer want this vehicle.My only complaint is Jeeps are notorius for not getting good gas mileage.
